Avril Lavigne's fragrance line, now discontinued, included three fragrances, Black Star, Forbidden Rose and Wild Rose.
Black Star[]
Black Star was released in mid 2009, and is considered a fruity, sweet and floral fragrance. In an interview for the perfume, Avril explains that she wanted it to be rock n roll, fun, high-energy and girly, and that she was inspired by her favorite colours (black & pink), stars and studs. Avril also said that she chose the bottle design, packaging box design, font design, the scents of the perfume, and commercial concept. At the launch party for the fragrance, Avril says it was was 2 years in the making, which gave it very similar themes to The Best Damn Thing. She explains the fragrance was meant to be about self expression and being your own star.
The perfume was sold in various forms, and some gift boxes included a purse, a clutch, a body lotion, a shower gel or plug-in music speakers.

Black Star bottle

The Black Star bottle design is an clear irregular-shaped star with a black star-shaped lid and a wearable silver spiked ring. The perfume liquid was bright pink.

Commercial[]
The commercial can be seen uploaded to YouTube, and was directed by Billie Woodruff. It features the short song Black Star, which was released as the opening track on Goodbye Lullaby. Avril also released a "Making of Black Star commercial" and a Launch Party video on YouTube.

- The Black Star perfume also features in Avril's music video for What The Hell, with Forbidden Rose, where she sprays both of them at the start of the video.
Forbidden Rose[]
Forbidden rose was the second perfume by Avril Lavigne, released in 2010. It is considered a floral, fruity perfume. In an interview, Avril describes Forbidden Rose as edgy and more mysterious, and daring to discover. She describes the base note as "woody, like a forest" and the lotus heart notes as "feminine and edgy".
The fragrance was also sold in box sets which included shower gel, body lotion or a purse, and was also sold as a pair with Black Star.

The bottle design was a clear, tall rectangular shape with 4 star vertices, a black rose-shaped lid and a wearable silver ring with a barbed-wire design. The perfume liquid was purple. Avril describes the bottle shape as "rare and precious" and the color combination of purple, black and silver as "magical", with the black rose adding an element of fantasy.

Wild Rose[]
Wild Rose was the third and last fragrance by Avril Lavigne, released in 2011. It is considered a floral fruity fragrance. In a video, Avril describes Wild Rose as a sequel to Forbidden Rose, says that it is a lighter fragrance, perfect for daytime, and is about having fun and daring to discover even more.
The fragrance was also sold in box sets which included a candle, body lotion or shower gel.
