The Black Star Tour was the fourth concert tour by Avril Lavigne in support of her fourth studio album, Goodbye Lullaby. The tour had a moderate success on tickets sales. A week after the Asian dates were released, it was announced that 13,000 tickets was sold for Osaka, Japan. It also went really well in South America, where more than 55,000 tickets was sold, with price averaging $75-$120. All the tickets that went on sale for the first show in São Paulo, was completely sold out on the same day. The concert held in Rio de Janeiro and Caracas had the higher grossings for the South American leg. In China, extra concerts was added for the second Asian leg, in Beijing and Guangzhou where Avril played for 10,000 fans at Guangzhou Gymnasium. In August 24, 2011 Avril ranked #15 position at Billboard boxscore due both shows in São Paulo, which grossed $980,009 combined. The tour has grossed $35,000,000 dollars, with 61 concerts.

Incidents[]

The concerts in Japan were scheduled to happen in May 2011. However, because of the earthquake disaster, she decided, out of respect for Japanese families, to reschedule the concerts to February 2012, when she finally played in Japan. On July 26, Lavigne got stuck at Ezeiza Airport in Buenos Aires due to a volcano, almost making her cancel the first concert in São Paulo. She arrived in Brazil just four hours before the concert time, where more than 7,000 fans were waiting at the arena. During this show she thanked her team for solving the situation and made the concert happen.
